Cherlynn Mccarty

Mrs. Cherlynn Marie Domer McCarty, 60, of Hagerstown, died Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.

Born July 2, 1951, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Marie Mummert Domer Upperman and the late Harold William Domer.

She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Lee McCarty on June 27, 2005.

Mrs. McCarty was employed with Salem Way Confectionary, Domer’s Corner Store, as well as a caregiver.

She was a 1969 graduate of North Hagerstown High School, with high honors in Culinary Arts.

Mrs. McCarty was a member of Grace United Methodist Church; and involved with Camp Reach Children’s Program.

Surviving are her children Jodi Lynne Burcker and husband Jacob (Ray) of Falling Waters, WV, Denny Lee McCarty and companion Christina A. Eyler, and Carrie Marie McCarty, all of Hagerstown, and Kimberly S. Ruck of Greencastle, PA; grandchildren Norma Lynne Burcker, Jonathan Martz, Danielle Ruck and Angel Eyler; as well as her brother, H. Dennis Domer and wife Sandy of Chambersburg, PA, step-father Lawrence T. Upperman; and niece Stacey L. Domer and great nephew Sage N. Halverson.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 21, 2012, at 11:00 AM, at Grace United Methodist Church, 712 West Church Street, Hagerstown. Her pastor, Rev. Clark D. Carr will officiate. Burial will be private. The family from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, at the church on Saturday.
