Mr. Dale Gene Nemcek, Sr., 73, of Martinsburg, and formerly of Hagerstown, died early Friday morning, November 6, 2020, at Berkeley County Medical Center, Martinsburg, West Virginia. He was the husband of Mrs. Ethel A. Sheppard Nemcek, his wife of 42 years.
Born July 6, 1947, in Baltimore, he was a son of the late Julian J., Sr., and Irene Menerva Littles Nemcek.
Dale was last employed with Maryland Paper Company, Williamsport.
He greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Dale Nemcek, Jr., and wife Susie, and Laura Nemcek, all of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren; his sister Mary Hoffman of Hagerstown; as well as his brother-n-law and close friend, Bruce Fogle with whom he resided in Martinsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his brother Julian Nemcek, Jr.; half- brother Thomas Eichelberger; and step-son Charles Cross.
The family will receive friends at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 East Antietam Street, Hagerstown, on Tuesday, November 10, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The service will be graveside Wednesday, November 11, 1:00 PM, at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown. Family and friends will gather at the main gate for a procession to the gravesite moments prior to 1:00 PM. The Rev. W. Scott Summers of Beddington United Methodist Church, Martinsburg, will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Nemcek’s name to Beddington United Methodist Church, Martinsburg, West Virginia 25404.
