Esther Upperman

Mrs. Esther Marie Upperman, 90, of Hagerstown, died Monday, September 29, 2014, at the Nursing Center of Williamsport Retirement Village.  She was the wife of Mr. Lawrence T. Upperman, her husband of 52 years.

Born June 17, 1924, in Welsh Run, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Chester Arthur and Edith Elmira Keefer Mummert.

Esther worked for Hagerstown Leather Company and Hagerstown Ribbon Company.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Hagerstown.

Surviving besides her husband, is her son, H. Dennis Domer and wife Sandy, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Jodi L. Burcker, Denny L. McCarty, Stacy L. Domer, and Carrie M. McCarty; two step grandchildren, Michael Wingert and Michelle Norris; two great grandchildren, Norma L. Burcker and Sage N. Halverson; four step great grandchildren, Luke and Courtney Norris, and Dallas and Owen Wingert; as well as by her sister Doris I. Gall of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania.

Besides her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her daughter, Cherlynn M. McCarty who died April 15, 2012; and three brothers, and four sisters.

The funeral service will on Friday, October 3, 2014, 1:30 PM, at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Inc., 40 East Antietam Street, Hagerstown with her pastor, Rev. Curtis C. Ehrgot, officiating.  Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, beginning at 12:30 until time of service at 1:30 PM.
