Margaret Charlotte King Chamberlain

March 4, 1947 — January 17, 2025

Mrs. Margaret Charlotte King Chamberlain, 77, of Hagerstown, died suddenly Friday, January 17, 2025, at her Hagerstown residence. She was the wife of the late Glenn Charles Chamberlain, who preceded her in death on April 24, 1998.

Born March 4, 1947, in Washington County, she was a daughter of the late Peter Paul Vincenta and Olca Mae Tosten King.

Margaret had formerly worked with the admissions department at Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center, Rockville.

She was a stake member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hagerstown.

Margaret was a Television Buff. She thoroughly enjoyed the Hallmark Channel and Little House on the Prairie. Most of all she had a strong affection for Dr. Phil; someone that she could and would watch day and night.

Surviving are her daughters, Tammy Palmer of Hagerstown, and Shannon Schultz and husband William “Billy” of St. Louis, Missouri; her grandchildren Curtis Lee and Brittany Jean Locklear of Hagerstown, and Alison and Nicolaus Shultz of St. Louis; her great grandchildren Payton, Venus Callista and Matthew Locklear, and Knight Richardson; as well as by her sisters Gloria Elizabeth Hamilton of California, Vivian Evadna Smith, of Florida, and Janet Elaine Mellott of Clear Spring; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her husband and parents, Margaret was preceded in death by a great grandchild Atreus L. Richardson; and by five siblings Frank William, Paul Eugene, Glenn, Jr., and Hiram Gordon King, and Olca Mae Mellott.

The Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown, is assisting the family with arrangements.  A Celebration of Margaret’s life will be held on Saturday, February 8, at 11:00 AM, from her church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1253 Mount Aetna Road, Hagerstown. Inurnment will be at a later time in Quincy Cemetery, Quincy, Pennsylvania.
