Preston Snyder

August 31, 1922 — February 27, 2020

Mr. Preston Leon Snyder, 97, of Hagerstown, died Thursday, February 27, 2020, at his residence.  He was the husband of Mrs. Ethel Irene McCauley Snyder, who preceded him in death on April 15, 1991.

Born August 31, 1922, in Clear Spring, he was a son of the late Elmer Ellsworth and Mary Kathryn Gardner Snyder.  He graduated from Clear Spring High School with the Class of 1940.

Mr. Snyder worked with Lone Star Cement Company, Hagerstown.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Reformed Church, Clear Spring.

Surviving are his children, Teresa J. Swain and husband Kelly of Hagerstown, Robert H. Snyder and wife Barbara of Howard, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren Deanna L. Weaver and husband Mike, Angela M. Crouse and husband Keith, and Nathaniel P. Snyder; as well as his great grandchildren, Emma I. Lewis and husband Ralph, Cody A. and Trevor J. Crouse, and Margaret J. Kline; great, great grandchildren, Avery M. Swain and McKinley I. Lewis; and daughter-in-law Ruth Ann Snyder of Clear Spring.

Besides his wife and parents, Mr. Snyder was preceded in death by his son, Stuart L. Snyder; and siblings, Marlene Dingee, Lavada Myers, and Milton E. and David L. Snyder.

The Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown is handling the arrangements.  There will not be visiting at the funeral home.  A graveside service will be in St. Paul’s Church Cemetery, 14106 National Pike, Clear Spring, on Saturday, March 14, at 2:00 PM, with his pastor, Rev. Richard W. Bower, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
