Mr. Wilbur S. “Bud” Miner, 70, of Boonsboro, died Sunday, June 9, 2013, at his residence. He was the husband of Donna M. May Miner, her husband of 48 years.
Born January 27, 1943, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Walter Kefauver and Cornelia Lucretia Shry Miner. He graduated North Hagerstown High School in 1960.
Mr. Miner was employed with the Maryland Correctional Institution, Hagerstown.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Sharpsburg. Additionally he was a Friend of the Washington County Rural Heritage Museum; and member of Kang Wha Do Korean Veterans Group.
Surviving besides his wife is his son, Eric Scott Miner and wife Sandy of Boonsboro; grandsons John Scott and Jacob Scott Miner; siblings Bertha Ann Harden of Hagerstown, and Paul W. Miner of Williamsport; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bud was preceded in death by his sister, Lois L. Haden.
The family will receive friends at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 East Antietam Street, Hagerstown, on Wednesday, June 12, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be from his church, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 209 West Main Street, Sharpsburg, Thursday, June 13, at 10:30 AM. His pastor, The Rev. Mark W. Wastler will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Mark’s Episcopal Cemetery, Boonsboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland 21742; or to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, PO Box 364, Sharpsburg, Maryland 21782.
